Clinic Updates

Dr. Joel would like to remind you that Compass Chiropractic will continue to serve patients as long as it is socially responsible. Our clinic hours will remain the same at this time. We are staying up to date on Federal, State, and Local recommendations and have made a few “adjustments” to our usual procedure.

CHIROPRACTIC CARE IS A VALUABLE TOOL TO KEEP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM STRONG.

We saw during the Spanish Flu of 1918 (well not us personally because we’re not that old) that chiropractic care offered significant benefits to patients. Yeah, we know, that was 100 years ago but our immune systems still function and fight viruses the same way.

Besides chiropractic care, there are some important things you can do to keep your immune system working at it’s best.

Eat as healthy as possible. Our immune system relies on nutrient-dense whole foods to function well. Death from infections in the developing world is often not due to the infection itself but the body’s inability to fight it because of nutrient deficiencies.

Supplement your diet with quality vitamins. Vit D3 with K2, Vit C, Omega 3 (fish oil) are all important for immune support.

Get sufficient rest. Without adequate sleep, optimal immune function is next to impossible!

Stay active. Find creative ways to keep your body moving. Get outdoors if you can.

Find things to make you laugh. Laughter really is a great medicine. Dr. Joel is very serious, but he still cracks us up.

Stay connected with family and friends, find positive things in each day, and smile, even if it seems difficult, Our attitude really does make a difference.

Support your local economy however you can. You’re right, this one won’t keep you from getting sick, but it will help out your community and that will make you feel better.

Along with boosting your immune system, continue to take additional steps to avoid infection
Practice social distancing. Limit activities with larger groups in enclosed spaces. When going to a store or appointments, try not to take extra people along with you. Be thoughtful of the people you do need to be around. Consider their health and the health of the people they take care of. It stinks, we know, but we all need to do it.

Remember your kindergarten hygiene lessons. Wash your hands THOROUGHLY with soap. Sing a song, count wall tiles, or recite the first 30 digits of Pi. DON’T touch your face, please.

Stay home. Easy for some, hard for others. We all will have well organized homes and nicely manicured lawns in a few weeks. What new hobby are you looking forward to?

Stay informed. It’s difficult not to get sucked into the media, but sometimes it’s just as difficult to determine what is true and what isn’t. Rely on resources like the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. It’s ok to look at other sources but use your best judgement. If too much information is increasing your anxiety or completely confusing you, have a trusted friend or chiropractor give you all the important details.

It’s true, it will get worse before it gets better. We will continue to serve and support you. Take care of yourself and we’ll continue to take care of you too.

Stay smart, stay healthy, and stay kind.
